Rad Raccoon Room
12 months to 2 years
Hugging and cuddling are a big part of our day in the Rad Raccoon room. The children in this group are busy finding out new things about themselves and those around them.
They are beginning to talk and listen to all the things around them. They are also starting to recognize the items that belong to them, for example, their cups or sleeping blanket. Some of our favorite words in this room are "mine" and "no".
Encouragement and secure environment are necessary for every busy toddler so they can develop confidence, begin learning about sharing and getting along with others, and do hands on activities to develop their brains and learn new skills.
Toddlers are on the move all the time. They like to climb on things, investigate new toys, and try to take things down and apart. Our outdoor play time builds strong movement skills and helps regulate our busy bodies.
